Governments in Retreat
Governments, like most egos, believe they are important. But like egos, they separate from the people they serve. Governments, in their heightened sense of separation and alliance with big business become vicious, even against their own people, and it really does not matter the form of government, with democracy being one of the worst offenders. Even the States in America are beginning to fight back against Federal control in their struggle to maintain state rights.
Coming Round the Mountain When She Comes
Michael T. Klare warns us to, “Get ready for a rocky year. From now on, rising prices, powerful storms, severe droughts and floods, and other unexpected events are likely to play havoc with the fabric of global society, producing chaos and political unrest.
Russia Burns (Radiation Alert)
A hasty evacuation of diplomatic staff from foreign embassies, like a stampede, began in Moscow. Many embassies are trying to hide the evacuation for political reasons. Mass evacuation of the embassies of Canada and Poland was officially reported at night on August 7. Russia is sending 10,000 children and hundreds of elderly to Bulgaria and the Ukraine to save them from the smoldering heat and overpowering smog in Moscow, the city’s Mayor, Yriy Luzhkov, announced Tuesday. Seventeen regions of Russia are currently aflame. Seven of them, including the Moscow region, have declared a state of emergency.
Gulf Coast Toxicity Syndrome
Vicki B. Escarra, President and CEO of Feeding America, wrote, “Alongside natural disaster, a very real human disaster looms. The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has wrought havoc on sea and on land. But attention is now turning to the long-term effects the disaster will have on the coastlines, on businesses, and on American men, women and children. The immediate effects of the oil spill are obvious. Others, such as its effects on American families, will be hard to measure and will take years to document.”
Warning – Warning – Warning
Our very humanity and the nobility of medicine are on the line with the Gulf oil spill disaster. How we respond and what we respond with will be remembered, so we better get it right. Dr. Stuart Scheckner says though, “As a victim of mercury toxicity from a spill in my dental practice, I understand the insidious danger from poisons. The average physician does not have a clue when it comes to toxicity. Diagnosis and treatment of toxicity problems are not well understood by many physicians. Toxic rain and air will be a nightmare. How do you wake up those who represent us?”
Oil Catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico
The oil disaster is no longer an abstraction floating out at sea. It's coming ashore spreading terror and agony to angry and desperate local populations; smearing tourist beaches, washing onto the shorelines of sleepy coastal communities and oozing into marshy bays that fishermen have worked for generations, destroying fisheries, devastating birds, creating an incredible mess and costing a bloody fortune.
The Crushing Weight of Loss Upheaval, and Social Unrest
In just the first two months of 2010 state and local governments across the U.S. cut 45,000 jobs and this is just the beginning since budgets are still nowhere near being balanced, something that is required by law. “We’ve talked in the past about revenue declines in a recession,” said Jon Shure of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, “but I think you have to call this one a revenue collapse.
Economic Pearl Harbor
Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration. He is coauthor of The Tyranny of Good Intentions. He says, “The worst part of the decline is yet to come. Bank failures and home foreclosures are yet to peak.
Continuation of the Collapse
in the path of the world’s economy are higher interest rates, failing bond auctions, sovereign defaults, municipal, state and city defaults, and continued collapse in employment slicing increasingly into areas of basic public services.
Insecurity
During the Great Depression of the 1930s, things were different. Family units were much stronger, people knew how to rely on each other and most Americans possessed enough morality and inner strength so that they did not freak out when things went from bad to worse.
Collective Soul Suffering
En mass we are like deer in the headlights about to be run over by events that we have no control over. It is really not a fair situation. Finally we will begin to see that we are all one in reality and that whatever we have allowed to be done to one is going to be done to all.
Debt Slaves
An estimated 12 - 27 million people are caught in one or another form of slavery not counting debt slaves. There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt. A fundamental aspect of the American way of life, which has become the way of life for most of the first world and a great part of the third world, is chronic indebtedness.
How Bad Will Things Get
United States Congressman Ron Paul warns Americans of coming economic collapse and martial law in a video that shouts a future unimaginable to anyone who is not already looking at worst case scenarios. The people in the first world will not have access to even the most basic of necessities.
What’s Coming to a Theater near You
They did not explain to people that their houses could plummet in value while the interest rate on loans could soar to oblivion. The next leg of the overall economic downturn will come on quick
Dreams of Empire Ruined
The English, after centuries of brutal British Colonialism, have not a clue that they might have produced some measure of discontent among the brutalized. Americans similarly are clueless to the consequences of their nation’s policies.
Our Failing Civilization
The western world is going bankrupt! The advanced industrialized world is going down hard. Already many millions of lives are destroyed, hundreds of millions of other lives are stunted, social organizations are crumbling, productivity is low, and we have a failing infrastructure, environmental disasters, ‘severe’ climate change, and a threatening financial/economic collapse, despite all the good news from the public media fantasy factories. And this is the short list of a much longer one of problems that are haunting our civilization like tremendous pollution; much of which is invisible like mercury but it’s in everything.

Bob Herbert of the Times was recently asking, “How loud do the alarms have to get? There is an economic emergency in the country with millions upon millions of Americans riddled with fear and anxiety as they struggle with long-term joblessness, home foreclosures, personal bankruptcies and dwindling opportunities for themselves and their children.” Massive layoffs are on the horizon for city and state workers across the country. American society is going to be gutted right across its middle and exactly where it will hurt the most. States, especially California, that are in financial crisis are opening up their prison doors. Budgets across the nation are in freefall and that’s not only deflationary, it’s devastating to a way of life that Americans simply got too used to.
“Not only has no remedy come for the US Economy and US Banks and US Govt financial structure, but no remedy is even attempted. The name of the game is to create gigantic cash flows that the syndicate grabs from to its strategic position, as fraud continues with no semblance of prosecution. They control the US Dept Treasury and the US Congress and the US Financial regulators. True movement toward remedy would liquidate Wall Street and much of the syndicate edifices that serve as fronts for the US Govt control tower,” writes
